Louis Abalos is an HR consultant with the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services who provides insights that help boost efficiency and growth. His position builds on a role as workforce stabilization consultant with Kaiser Permanente, where he excelled in fostering strong employee communications and staff relations. Louis Abalos also has two decades of experience in the US Marine Corps.
From 2012 to 2015, Mr. Abalos served as a canvassing recruiter with the Marine Corps recruiting station in Seattle, where he prospected, interviewed, screened and advised those who applied for qualified enlistment opportunities. Focusing on aptitude and training opportunities, he provided mentorship to a wide range of applicants. Mr. Abalos also presented before educators, community leaders, and prospects on enlistment opportunities, and coordinated with law enforcement on background investigations.
Mr. Abalos’ military experience includes a role as station commander with the recruiting substation in Puyallup, Washington. In addition, as program supervisor and career retention specialist with Naval Base Kitsap in Bangor, he oversaw the coaching, training, and mentoring of Marines department supervisors and executive-level management on issues of employee retention and relations. He delivered analytics-driven reports that enabled senior leadership to assess and harmonize management decisions.
